Is work a virus that destroys thinking?
Aug. 30th, 2005 08:55 pmI started this blog mostly so I could read material on someone's blog that was only available to "friends". I decided, however, that since I had to create the account, that I would write down things that I'm thinking about, and get other people's thoughts on them. [I guess I could have left this all empty, but would that have made people think the emptiness a reflection of my soul?]
As is easy to notice, I haven't added anything to this journal in quite a while. I was pondering that the other day and couldn't really come up with a good reason. It is true that I've been working a lot lately, but does that really affect things? Do I have less time to think? Or is work some kind of disease that actually destroys or subverts my mental processes? Maybe I only have a limited number of brain cycles, and work is taking sufficient of them that I can't ponder any weighty subjects.
Or, maybe I'm just lazy.
